PowerOfMetal.dk conducted an interview with bassist Jukka Koskinen of Finnish epic metallers WINTERSUN on December 21, 2012 at Royale Boston in Boston, Massachusetts. You can now watch the chat below.
WINTERSUN's "Time I" is nominated in the "Metal Album Of The Year" category at this year's Emma Gaala (Finnish Grammy equivalent), which will be held on March 1 at Barona Areena in Espoo, Finland. They will be going up against MOKOMA ("180 Astetta"), NIGHTWISH ("Imaginaerum"), TERVEET KÄDET ("Musta Hetki"), and STAM1NA ("Nocebo").
Commented WINTERSUN: "2012 has been a great year for us so far. Besides two successful tours and chart entries in Europe and North America, we were extremely thrilled to see the amazing reception 'Time I' got in our native Finland. We're feeling really honored for the Emma nomination and want to thank everybody who has supported us and made it possible!"
"Time I" sold nearly 4,000 copies in its first week of release in the United States to land at position No. 109 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"Time II" will be released in 2013.
WINTERSUN recently headlined this year's edition of the Heidenfest tour. Support on the trek came from KORPIKLAANI, VARG, TROLLFEST and KRAMPUS.
WINTERSUN's debut CD was released in September 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records.
