MYSTIC PROPHECY Begins Work On New Material

German/Greek metallers MYSTIC PROPHECY are currently writing material for their seventh studio album, tentatively due in 2011.

The band recently announced the addition of drummer Claudio Sisto to the group's ranks.

MYSTIC PROPHECY mainman/producer R.D. Liapakis previously stated about the songwriting process for the next CD: "'Fireangel' has been a big success and our fans were very pleased by the result so the new one has to be better or at least equally good.

"I admit that I am always anxious about how people will react to our music. However, so far playing music that comes from our hearts has always led us to good releases and I am confident this album will be no exception to the story so far.

"This is our seventh studio album, and I am confident that with our current lineup, and Claudio behind the drum kit, we will make your heads bang."

"Fireangel", the sixth album from the MYSTIC PROPHECY, entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 77. Released on May 22, 2009 via Massacre Records, the follow-up to 2007's "Satanic Curses" was recorded at Prophecy Studios and was mixed in Sweden under the direction of Fredrik Nordström (DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY, IN FLAMES) and R.D. Liapakis (FIREWIND, CHASTAIN, ELDRITCH).

MYSTIC PROPHECY in 2008 announced the addition of DESCENDING/ex-NIGHTRAGE guitarist Constantine to the group's ranks.
