METALLICA Mixing "Rock And Roll With Hip-Hop Soul" On JA RULE Track

METALLICA's controversial collaboration with rapper JA RULE and producer Swizz Beatz in the form of a song called "We Did It Again", taken from the Swizz Beatz compilation album G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories, has had its release date pushed back to August, according to a brand new report. Due to be issued through Dreamworks Records, the album's full track listing is as follows:

01. SWIZZ BEATZ - "Intro"
02. SWIZZ BEATZ - "Ghetto Stories"
03. JADAKISS f/ RON ISLEY - "Big Business"
04. SWIZZ BEATZ - "Turn It Up (Interlude)"
06. SHYNE f/ MASHONDA - "Shyne"
07. MASHONDA f/ LL COOL J - "Ghetto Love"
08. SWIZZ BEATZ - "Alien (Interlude)"
09. STYLES - "Good Times"

15. NAS, FAT JOE AND CASSIDY - "Salute Me (Remix)"
16. SWIZZ BEATZ - "Outro"
17. SWIZZ BEATZ f/ METALLICA and JA RULE - "We Did It Again"

MTV contributor Shaheem Reid, who has apparently had an opportunity to preview the METALLICA/JA RULE track writes the following about it in her report:

β€œ 'Who loves a little rock and roll mixed with a little hip-hop soul?' JA growls, provoking METALLICA to holla back, 'We do!' 'More than this/ Nevermore your whipping board,' METALLICA go on to spurt, while JA proclaims himself 'A rock star born in the U.S.A.'

β€œOn initial listens to 'We Did It Again', SWIZZ's beat is a little difficult for the ears to catch up with. A few of the riffs sound LINKIN PARK-ish, and he switches up tempos several times. But hey, who said rap and roll was easy?”

The metal world is waiting with bated breath (cough, cough).
