CANDLELIGHT Signs North American Licensing Deal With TABU RECORDINGS

Candlelight Records has inked a North American licensing deal for all Tabu Recordings titles. The new partnership will see the U.S. and Canadian release of all new and reissued catalog titles from the growing Norwegian record label through Candlelight's stateside operation.

The first scheduled release will be the new album from Norway's SUSPERIA. Titled "Unlimited", the record is already receiving substantial response throughout Europe. "Unlimited" is the third album from the band formed by former DIMMU BORGIR drummer Tjodalv. The band previously recorded for Nuclear Blast.

Formed in 2003, Tabu Records is owned by Tuba Records — Scandinavia's fastest growing independent distributor. The label's first release was the popular "Infernal Gathering" compilation featuring selections from IMMORTAL, DIMMU BORGIR, ZYKLON, OPETH, ENTOMBED, and SOILWORK among others. Tabu followed the release with worldwide signings of acclaimed cult band EINHERJER, folk metal band LUMSK and SUSPERIA.

Since its launch January 2001, Candlelight's U.S. operation has released over 100 albums across its three U.S. imprints. The company's current projects include the new album from Sweden's CENTINEX, a reissue of the rare split album from DIMMU BORGIR and OLD MAN'S CHILD, plus continued work on the second album from Norway's ZYKLO, the debut from GRIMFIST (featuring former members of IMMORTAL), and the label debut from Eugene, Oregon's YOB. In 2003, Candlelight reissued its popular catalog from OPETH, previously under license for the territory, with bonus material added. The label plans the reissue of its EMPEROR catalog later this fall, with reported bonus and DVD enhancements.
