BORKNAGAR Announce Recording Plans, Launch Side Project

Norway's BORKNAGAR will enter the studio early next year to begin recording the follow-up to "Empiricism". "We estimate to use about 4-6 months to record the album, as we want to use the time needed to get the album as close to perfection as possible," mastermind Oystein G. Brun said in a statement. "The album will be recorded in the same recording facilities as last time (Fagerborg and Toproom Studios) with Børge Finstad behind the desk. Musically the album will be a continuation of 'Empiricism'. Apart from that, we deem the right to keep the rest as a secret... he,he.... As of yet, there is no title for the album, but some song titles are ready: 'Cyclus', 'The Inner Ocean Hypothesis', 'The Wonder', 'Quintessence', 'Future Reminiscence' and 'Relate (Dialogo)'.”

In other news, Brun and BORKNAGAR frontman Vintersorg have announced the formation of a new musical project called ION.

"ION has been an idea of ours for quite some years now," Vintersorg said. "In spite of our involvements in respective band/bands, there is still some undiscovered musical fields that we would like to discover through this co-existence. The project is solely rooted in our heartfelt excitement of creating and constructing music. Our musical expression thereof.

"An album is roughly planned to be recorded/released during 2003. At this point ION is not contracted to any label so any interested party should contact us on the following address for further information:"
