SUPERFIX — the Los Angeles-based act featuring former DRAIN STH members Martina Axen (vocals) and Anna Kjellberg (bass), alongside ex-SINISSTAR guitarist China and drummer/programmer Sid Riggs — are holed up in their Hollywood rehearsal studio writing and demoing material for the group's long-awaited debut album, due in late 2003/early 2004.
Among the new songs the band have been working on are "Losing My Mind" and "I Am The Enemy", the latter of which is being described by the group's manager, Tim Dralle of Full-On Management, as "a dark and powerful song written by Anna." Both songs feature the "unique and amazing guitar playing that China will soon be known for and Martina's vocals and lyrics are personal, passionate, and extremely powerful as usual." Other tracks likely to appear on the band's debut album include "Super Sonic Freak", "The Devil Made Me Do It", "Always", "Superfix", "Kerosene" and "Kill Me".
SUPERFIX, who worked with SKID ROW guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo on several demo recordings early last year, have yet to secure a record deal, but have apparently received several offers. "We are currently letting our attorney sift through and deal with the label attention/offers while we make sure that SUPERFIX is everything that the fans have been waiting for," Dralle said.
Although SUPERFIX have not yet made any of their demo recordings available to the public, several tracks have been leaked to various press and radio contacts, which has resulted in some much-deserved attention for the group.
"We have been hearing reports and getting emails from people who are hearing 'Always' on their local radio stations, especially in the Cleveland area on their X-treme station," Dralle stated.
SUPERFIX's "very long-awaited, much overdue web site [www.superfix.net] should be officially launched shortly," Dralle promised. "It is being done by F7 Productions and is going to be very interactive and conducive to the fans' wants and needs. We have been through a few different companies and webmasters, but we finally found the right one."
With the exception of a couple of rehearsal/showcase gigs in the L.A. area, the band have yet to make an official live debut. However, "there have been a few pretty big tour offers that have come our way for later on in the year," according to Tim. "Stay tuned."
