SLAYER, ANVIL, JACKYL Members Interviewed On 'Maximum Threshold'; Audio Available

Dave Lombardo (SLAYER), Steve "Lips" Kudlow (ANVIL) and Jesse James Dupree (JACKYL) were interviewed on the May 1 edition of the "Maximum Threshold" show. The program is now available for streaming using the audio player below.

SLAYER's latest album, "World Painted Blood", was released on November 3, 2009 via American Recordings. The CD initially shipped with four special collector's edition covers. Each of the four covers displayed one-fourth of a provocative continental map illustrated with human skulls and bones; when placed together, the four images form a complete and grisly map of the world. All four of the initial CD packages included a special blood-red, see-through top panel with the map displayed beneath it.

SLAYER's track "Hate Worldwide" was nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Best Metal Performance" category. The award eventually went to British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST, who were honored for the track "Dissident Aggressor", from the band's 2009 live album "A Touch of Evil: Live".

ANVIL's acclaimed documentary, "Anvil! The Story of Anvil", was honored in the "Best Documentary" category at this year's Independent Spirit Awards, which was held on March 5 at LA Live's panoramic event deck in downtown Los Angeles. ANVIL also performed twice during the ceremony, which aired live and uncut on IFC (Independent Film Channel).

"Anvil! The Story of Anvil" is the directorial debut of screenwriter Sacha Gervasi ("The Terminal") and was produced by Rebecca Yeldham ("The Kite Runner" and "The Motorcycle Diaries"). The film follows Steve "Lips" Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner and their band, ANVIL, which released one of the heaviest albums in metal history, 1982's "Metal on Metal". The album influenced an entire musical generation of rock bands, including METALLICA, SLAYER, and ANTHRAX, who all went on to sell millions of records. ANVIL, on the other hand, took a different path — straight to obscurity. The film is both entertaining and touching as it follows their last-ditch quest for the fame and fortune that has been so elusive to them. "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" is a timeless tale of survival and the unadulterated passion it takes to follow your dream, year after year.

JACKYL will release its new album, "When Moonshine And Dynamite Collide", on May 4.
