SHADOW GALLERY: 'Gold Dust' Video Released

"Gold Dust", the new video from American progressive metallers SHADOW GALLERY, can be viewed below. The clip includes both live and location footage and features a cameo by Will Smith Sr., father of movie actor Will Smith. The video, which was filmed by Rick Berk and directed by SHADOW GALLERY bassist Carl Cadden-James, marked an ambitious step into exciting uncharted waters for the band.

"We are very excited about having done this and are genuinely pleased with the results. We were surrounded by extremely talented people during production and had a blast doing it," states Cadden-James. "The song 'Gold Dust' was the perfect vehicle for our first video and I think it's nice to be able to introduce Brian [Ashland] as a vocalist visually beyond his vocal performance on the CD."

The lyrical story is played out by model Heather Anthony and displays a very human side of the band that explores the emotional complexities of both desire and heartache and should resonate with almost anyone who has ever loved.

SHADOW GALLERY has transitioned very comfortably from just an aural experience to the visual artistic expression that their music is so well suited.

"Gold Dust" comes off SHADOW GALLERY's sixth studio effort, "Digital Ghosts", which was released on October 26, 2009 in Europe and November 3, 2009 in North America via InsideOut Music.

After the tragic passing of lead singer Mike Baker in October 2008, SHADOW GALLERY's new CD introduces new vocalist Brian Ashland and not only sees the entire band once again sharing additional vocal duties but also features guest vocal appearances by Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR) and Clay Barton (SUSPYRE) to complement the release. With "Digital Ghosts", SHADOW GALLERY's members Brendt Allman, Carl Cadden-James, Gary Wehrkamp, Ashland and returning drummer Joe Nevolo (who appears on two songs of the record) have focused their powerful energies on creating a seamless blend of progressive, metal, and symphonic rock as a transcendent work of musical art that advances the boundaries of these genres into new directions.

SHADOW GALLERY will make its live debut as part of the Triton Power Cruise, which is billing itself as the "first-ever progressive/power metal cruise." The event takes place from April 30 to May 3 and includes the following: cabin, all food on the cruise, a pre-party on Thursday, April 29, 2010, party in the Bahamas, all concerts, meet-and-greet, Beatnik Rhythm Analyzers-sponsored drum clinic featuring Casey Grillo of KAMELOT and more. Optional upgrade will also be available for a private party with all the featured bands.

"We have waited a long time to bring the music of SHADOW GALLERY to the stage," said guitarist Gary Wehrkamp. "There are many talented bands performing on the Triton Power Cruise and we are honored to be a part of this exciting event." Bandmate Brendt Allman added, "This will be a fun event, a long time in the making." Beth Mays of Triton Power Cruise said, "It is my sincerest honor to have SHADOW GALLERY give their first performance onboard the Triton Power Cruise."
