REVEREND has uploaded its 1992 live version of "B.O.B. - Butcher of Baghdad" (from the "Reverend Live" EP, released through Charisma Records) to its MySpace page as a show of support for U.S. troops and recent events in Iraq.
"We have recieved quite a few requests for us to do this and with the recent events of this past weekend in Baghdad, we felt it was the right time," stated Brian Keith, REVEREND's manager.
REVEREND's upcoming CD, which is currently being recorded at Blue Cat Studios with Grammy Award-wining producer Joe Trevino, will include the last lyrics penned by late REVEREND/METAL CHURCH singer David Wayne, titled "With This Needle I Thee Wed". "This song will no doubt be a controversial song, but is aimed at the addictions of life, and how it changes people forever," the band previously explained in a press release. Songtitles set to appear on the album include (in no particular order):
01. In the End
04. Darkened Horizon
05. Ships of Illusion
07. With This Needle I Thee Wed
08. Universal Metal
09. River of Hate (Styx)
10. Unconscious Suicide
The upcoming CD will be the group's first with new frontman Michael Lance (ex-ANCIENT CROSS), who replaced David Wayne earlier in the year.
Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from injuries he sustained in a head-on automobile accident several months earlier. He was 47 years old.
