EarBlend, a Lebanese social media group, recently conducted an interview with guitarist Rami H. Mustafa of the Dubai-based death/thrash metal band NERVECELL. You can now watch the chat below.
NERVECELL will open for METALLICA on October 25 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at Yas Island.
Commented the band: "This is an historical event for heavy metal fans all across the Middle East and for NERVECELL to be a part of this is truly a dream come true and an absolute honor for us! We are thrilled beyond belief and cannot wait to share the stage with the biggest band in metal music ever... METALLICA! a band whom we all grew up listening to at a very young age.
"METALLICA not only influenced us musically, but most importantly gave us the courage to pick up a musical instrument and become the metal musicians we are today. NERVECELL's last performance in Abu Dhabi dates back to the year 2004 and what better way than to come back to perform in the capital of the UAE again alongside METALLICA!"
NERVECELL's latest album, "Psychogenocide", was released on April 29 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland; and on May 2 in the rest of Europe through Lifeforce Records. The CD features guest vocals by guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders of South Carolina-based extreme technical death metallers NILE on the song "Shunq (To The DespairedKing Of Darkness)".
The "Psychogenocide" cover artwork was designed by Bjrn Goosses of Killustrations (ABORTED, SEVERE TORTURE, ZYKLON) and is a concept which NERVECELL has been working on for quite a while. The band is said to be "extremely proud of how it has turned out" as it "perfectly matches the aggression and musical direction of the new album."
