K2, the new band led by former EUROPE guitarist Kee Marcello, will release their debut album, "Melon Demon Divine", on June 17 through Frontiers Records.
As a member of EUROPE, Kee recorded two highly successful albums ("Out of This World" and "Prisoners In Paradise") and did three world tours including the one in support of the release of "The Final Countdown".
"Melon Demon Divine" is the first result of Kee Marcello's new venture into recording and producing at his newly built studio, GEM Recording.
Described as a heavily guitar-oriented metal album, "Melon Demon Divine" reportedly combines heavy riffs with grooves and strong songs with the signature melodic solo playing of Kee.
The official line-up of K2 is Kee on guitars and vocals, Snowy Shaw (KING DIAMOND, DREAM EVIL) on drums and Ken Sandin (ALIEN, TRANSPORT LEAGUE) on bass (bass on the CD is played by Klaatu).
