FIREWIND To Release 'Embrace The Sun' Digital Single

Greek melodic metallers FIREWIND, who feature in their ranks OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G. (real name: Kostas Karamitroudis), will release a new digital single, "Embrace The Sun", on March 15. The single will include a video for the track shot by acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, IN FLAMES, LACUNA COIL and KAMELOT, among many others.

Behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the "Embrace The Sun" and "World On Fire" videos can be seen below.

FIREWIND is working on putting together a massive North American touring package for the fall, the details of which will be announced soon.

FIREWIND's song "World On Fire" will be part of a new ten-song mega pack in February for Activision Publishing's "Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock" alongside CHILDREN OF BODOM, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and many others.

FIREWIND's new album, "Days Of Defiance", sold around 700 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 53 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

The European limited-edition mediabook CD version of "Days Of Defiance" didn't only come with special packaging, alternate cover artwork and expanded booklet features, it also contained three special bonus tracks, a Gus G. / ESP guitar pick as well as a quality FIREWIND sticker.

"Days Of Defiance" was released in North America on October 26, 2010 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records. The CD's striking cover artwork was designed by the band's longtime partner in all design matters, Gustavo Sazes.
