CHAOSBREED Complete Work On Debut CD, Announce U.S. Release Date For EP

CHAOSBREED drummer Nalle Österman (ex-GANDALF) has posted the following message to the band's official web site:

"Get brutalized! This is Nalle keeping you up-to-date with what's been happening lately in the CHAOSBREED camp. It is with utter pleasure I can report that the recordings for our debut album 'Brutal' have finally been completed. We ran into some drawbacks when [vocalist] Taneli [Jarva, THE BLACK LEAGUE, ex-SENTENCED] caught a cold — which delayed the recordings of the vocal tracks for a few weeks - but now we are finally done.

"[Producers] Sande [Santeri Kallio] and Nicu [Niclas Etelävuori] have already done a rough mix of the album, which to these rotten hearing aids known as ears sound killer to say the least. Fuck, this has the best drum sound that I have ever had on any recording I have played on! Too bad I am such a lousy drummer…

"For the most part we recorded everything live, so what you will hear is very organic, energetic and at times chaotic as well, as everything was recorded in the first few takes to keep it fresh and raw. There are mistakes here and there, but so what — nobody's perfect. No everlasting Pro Tools-wanking here then, what you will hear is the real deal. No frills, just kills! Our old and dear friend Kasper Martenson came in to provide some haunting keyboards for some songs and also an eerie intro that will prepare you to die, haha.

"Thirteen songs have been finished and they are:

01. Rotting Alive (demo/EP version)
02. Casket Ride
03. Faces Of Death
04. F/C/D/C (Freedom Corps Death Crush) (demo/EP version)
05. Wretched Life (demo/EP version)
06. Demon Skunk
07. The Day Man Lost (CARNAGE cover)
08. Slutrush
09. Sink In Hell
10. Moralized
11. Shitgrinder
12. Symptoms Of The Flesh
13. An Evil Eye

"However, not all of these songs will appear on 'Brutal' as some will probably be chosen for special bonus tracks for different versions of the album. As we speak, negotiations with several labels are taking place and we hope to be able to announce the home for our music before the end of the year with 'Brutal' being released in spring 2004.

"However, before the album, a split 7" single with RYTMIHÄIRIÖ will be released through Rising Realm containing rough mixes of 'Sink In Hell', 'Slutrush' and 'The Day Man Lost'. In related news, our demo/mini-CD 'Unleashed Carnage' will be released in North America and Europe by Crash music Inc. (ex-Pavement) January 13, 2004.

"Also we should — finally! — have two live videos from our gig at Tavastia, Helsinki in August 2003 set available for download through our website in the next few weeks. Just be patient…"

CHAOSBREED's lineup is rounded out by bassist Oppu Laine (ex-AMORPHIS, MANNHAI), guitarist Marko Tarvonen (MOONSORROW), and guitarist Esa Holopainen (AMORPHIS). "Brutal" includes guest appearances by ENTOMBED guitarist Uffe Cederlund and bassist Jörgen Sandström.
