Karlshamn, Sweden-based melodic death metal act BLINDED COLONY has changed its name to THE BLINDED. The band recorded a six-song EP last summer and is due to release its as-yet-untitled third album later in the year.

According to a press release, "the sound is familiar to BLINDED COLONY's earlier work, but heavier, more powerful and with a stronger sense of melody.

BLINDED COLONY's sophomore album, "Bedtime Prayers", came out in January 2007 through Pivotal Rockordings. The CD — which featured songs written and vocals performed by Swedish songwriter Shellback (Johan Schuster) before getting his big break in the pop world writing songs for PINK, BRITNEY SPEARS and many others — can be purchased at CDBaby, iTunes and AmazonMP3, among many other online retailers.
