BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE Focus Of BBC's 'Metal At 40' Program

A program celebrating 40 years of heavy metal — focusing on the genre's founding fathers: BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN and DEEP PURPLE — aired Thursday morning (January 3) on BBC Radio 4. The show, dubbed Metal at 40", included several short interview clips from the '80s with Robert Plant and David Lee Roth, plus new interviews with the SABBATH's first manager and PURPLE frontman Ian Gillan.
